Clone Stamp Tool in Photoshop

on Thursday 27 June 2013

Step 1 : Sometimes you may come across images that you like, but what spoils it is lettering across it. What do you do. Get the image. Open it up in Photoshop (either Photoshop 7 or Photoshop CS 2). Then follow the steps below to eraze the lettering.

Step 2 : Click the Zoom Tool. See the arrow.

Step 3 : Now see on top left of Photoshop. The two icons like magnifying glasses marked with a + and a - sign. The one with the plus zooms in i.e. magnifies the image and the one with the minus zooms out or decreases the image. There is also a shortcut. After clicking the Zoom Tool use the [ to zoom out and ] to zoom in. This can be used for maximising and minimising the size of brushes too.

Step 4 : Now click the Clone Stamp Tool from the flyout. Remember to use the [ ] (the brackets) on your keyboard for maximising and minimising a portion of the image.

Step 5 : Now see the image and decide from which area you wish to clone. Click ALT on your keyboard and click the left mouse button simultaneously.

Step 6 : Alt+CLICK continously. Choose a different area from which to clone each time. I admit it takes patience, but it pays off. You can see that the lettering from this portion of the image has disappeared. It has been cloned i.e. blended with the background.

Step 7 : This is another portion of the image which has been cloned. I have chosen the green for cloning the green areas, grey for the grey areas and red for the red areas.

This is the completed image. The lettering has disappeared. Try it out. It's easy enough.
