Page Curl with Photoshop CS 2

on Thursday 27 June 2013
The Photoshop CS 2 offers an easy way to make a page curl. This is how it's done.

Step 1 : I have opened this image in Photoshop CS 2.

Step 2 : Double click the Background to make it editable. By default the Background is not editable. Click OK on the dialogue box.

Step 3 : Click the Rectangular Marquee Tool. See the arrow. Click it to select.

Step 4 : The rectangular selection has been drawn with the Rectangular Marquee Tool.

Step 5 : Select the Gradient Tool from the flyout.

Step 6 : Draw the Gradient from the top right corner to the bottom left corner and will get a result as shown.

Step 7 : Go to Select>Deselect.

Step 8 : Go to Edit>Transform>Warp. The Warp Tool is not found in earlier versions of Photoshop, including Photoshop 7.

Step 9 : This is how the image will look after clicking the Warp Tool. Notice the grid lines.

Step 10 : Drag from the left bottom to right top.

Step 11 : The page curl.

Step 12 : Open a new white layer and drag it over the image.

Step 13 : The white layer completely covers the image.

Step 14 : Go to Layer>Arrange>Send to back. This will send the white layer to the back.

Step 15 : The page curl with the white layer at the back. Now for a touch of realism.

Step 16 : Go to Layer>Layer Style>Drop Shadow.

Step 17 : when this dialogoe box opens set the Distance, Spread and Size suitably by dragging the sliders to the left gradually.

The finished page curl. You can make the curl in any corner you choose.
